About a year ago my Dad proudly came back from Waitrose and presented me with a loaf of ‘low carb bread’. I was very grateful but thought, hmm, too good to be true and didn’t give it a second thought. 2 weeks later I found it in the freezer and decided to read the nutrition label:

Per slice:
3.8g of carbs – 2.1g of fibre making it only 1.7 net grams
6.7g of protein
68 calories

I assumed it must be awful, because how can ‘low carb’ bread be nice? I popped it in the toaster, got the meridian peanut butter (my life) out of the cupboard… it was delicious.

Let be real, the slices aren’t huge, and it doesn’t taste EXACTLY like bread. But for a low carber its the holy grail. And its not even expensive.

£1.50 – £2.50 a loaf depending on where you buy it, have it with scrambled eggs and smoked salmon, peanut or almond butter, as a sandwich, with hummous. However you like it.
